Went to Leiden today to talk to Yubu and gather information for our first design phase. Had a great talk with Rob and Guus.
A first milestone: the team met with the builders of Sphereon to start the building proces!
In December I talked to the board of Vereniging OMO (see picture) and the a boardmember of Senzer about the project. Everybody is ready for the next fase in January! 🙂
Our project group consists of several app builders, teachers and managers, but no blockchain software programmers. We had to select a company that could build our dream for us. After contacting seven companies from all over Europe, we selected Sphereon. We spoke about how to start and on January 10th the entire group will talk about what we want and all technical details.
Vereniging OMO is a group of schools in the south of The Netherlands. Last week I received the news that OMO is funding the BlockChange project. That means we can start planning the building process. Yes!
During the last year I have stayed in touch with DUO: the executive branch of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Johann Schreurs and Henny Bulstra are working on blockchain projects of the agency. I talked to them at BCinED17 and talked to them again this week. We have complementary projects: DUO working on governance, we working on the consumer/user side of blockchain in education. We’ll be stayin in touch the next few months. Check several projects of the DUO innovatielab at GitHub and read about one of their blockchain projects called StudyBits.
Yes! Next school year I’ll have more time to work on BlockChange. The Omo Scholengroep Helmond has provided me one day a week to spend on the build en research on the BlockChange project!
On June 26th I made my way to Amsterdam for a meetup with the projects funded by the SIDN Fund in their Blockchain for Good call. We discussed the state of our projects and discussed the implications of blockchain, based on our first hand experience. Check the site of the SIDN Fund (Dutch) for more information.
Website Cryptobutler.nl asked Wim Pelgrim to write a guest contribution about BlockChange. You can find the article at https://www.cryptobutler.nl/onderwijsresultaten-samenbrengen-met-blockchange/
